Barbecue is Saturday

September 24, 2012|Susie Hoffman | Around Funkstown

The leaves are turning as quickly as the pages on the calendar. Funks-town is bustling with activities and squeezing in a few before October.

Barbecue season is not quite over yet. The volunteers at Funkstown Volunteer Fire Co. are firing up the grill to usher out September with pit beef, Italian sausage and barbecue chicken. Baked goods will also be for sale.

The barbecue will be Saturday, starting in the morning.

Bingo planned at fire station

On Sunday, Emma K. Doub Elementary and other community projects will benefit from a Longaberger basket bingo at Funkstown Volunteer Fire Co.

The doors open at 1 p.m. and bingo starts at 2 p.m. There will be food available and 25 games are on the menu as well.

For tickets, call Mike Line at 301-667-1212.
