Nicolosi receives degree, is commissioned as second lieutenant

Daniel Nicolosi of Boonsboro graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Towson University in May. 

Nicolosi is a 2008 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He is the son of A.J. and Nancy Nicolosi.

His sister, Stephanie Young, and brothers Bryan, Marc and Brandon also are Boonsboro High graduates.

In addition to graduating, Nicolosi was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

He reported to Armor Basic Officers Leadership Course at Fort Benning, Ga., and will graduate this fall.

At his commissioning, he selected retired Command Sgt. Maj. R.L. Long to give the traditional first salute. Long is a lifelong family friend who joined the Army with Nicolosi's father.

After additional maneuver training and qualification for Ranger School, Nicolosi will report to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colo.
