Keefer, Panthers run past Carson Long

HANCOCK — Jordan Keefer rushed for 154 yards on 21 carries and opened the scoring on a 7-yard first-quarter run to lead Hancock to its first victory of the season with a 24-0 shutout of Carson Long Military.

Hunter McKinley had eight carries for 61 yards and connected with Chad Sipe on a 23-yard TD pass in the second quarter for the Panthers (1-3). Nate Souders carried eight times for 82 yards, and Tanner Faith rushed for 28 yards on seven carries and scored on a 4-yard run in the third quarter.

Other scores: Westminster 36, Martinsburg 33 (loss snaps Bulldogs’ 32-game winning streak); Sherando 50, Jefferson 7; Central Dauphin 52, Chambersburg 27; Musselman 55, Washington 34.


Heritage 3, New Life 0

FREDERICK, Md. — Kara Stamper had 24 kills, eight aces, 10 digs and two blocks to lead Heritage Academy to a 25-20, 25-10, 25-13 Mason Dixon Christian Conference sweep of New Life Christian.

Chloe Prejean had 24 assists, and six digs for the Eagles (9-0, 9-0). Christi Jackson had 10 kills and two blocks, Nicole Gaylor had 13 digs, Hannah Muller had five aces, Bethany Powell had nine digs and Hannah Gaylor added five digs.

Cumberland Valley Christian 3, Faith Christian 1

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Anna Bunting had 11 kills and five aces to lead Cumberland Valley Christian to a 25-11, 25-16, 22-25, 25-13 triumph over Faith Christian in the MDCC.

Karli Fogal had 33 assists and six aces, Marin Kearns had seven kills and Jessie Thrush added five aces for CVCS (8-1, 8-1).

Kristen VanVeldhuisen led Faith (1-8, 1-8) with six kills and eight digs. Michele Brooks had nine digs.


Boonsboro 4, Smithsburg 0

BOONSBORO — Connor Prunty scored twice and had one assist to lead Boonsboro to an MVAL Antietam win on Thursday.

Jared Brown and Tommy Prunty each scored and Greg Fiola made three saves for the Warriors (4-3, 2-1).

Smithsburg fell to 1-4, 0-2.

Clear Spring 4, South 0

Corey McClure had two goals and an assist to lead Clear Spring to an MVAL Antietam victory over South Hagerstown on Thursday.

Matt Lowenhaupt had a goal and an assist for the Blazers (4-1, 2-1), while Nick Brandt had a goal, Bradly Mills and Kevin Carbajal each had an assist and Levi Bucher had two saves for the shutout.

Joe Rohr had 12 saves for the Rebels (0-6, 0-3).

JV: Tied, 1-1.


Greencastle 5, Boiling Springs 3

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Alicia Crider and Sharon Juarez each had two goals and an assist as Greencastle-Antrim prevailed over Boiling Springs on Thursday.

Jordan Pizzaro scored a goal, while Kasey Sweitzer added an assist for the Blue Devils (8-1). Kayleigh Smith made four saves.
