Buddy is safe and sound

To the editor:

Our family recently lost a family pet during a thunderstorm. He is very fearful of thunder and jumped the fence of our yard.  He was lost in the Halfway area on Aug. 20 and was found in an alley in the west end of Hagerstown on Aug. 25.

Finding him would not have been possible if it were not for the free service from The Herald Mail and the many concerned readers. We even received a call at 12 a.m. from a lady who thought she saw “Buddy.” Thanks to the many people who helped to look for him prior to the ad, those who gave us leads as to where he had been seen when we were searching, and to those who responded to the ad. We now have a greatly relieved 4-year-old grandson. Buddy was found hungry and full of burrs, but was otherwise unharmed.
