Morning MoJo report - Sept. 19

Here is the Morning MoJo Report for Wednesday, Sept. 19:

* As of 7:15 a.m., traffic was a little sluggish on I-495 in both directions and I-270 southbound, but it was running fine on all the other interstates throughout the area.

* On the MARC Train, due to severe weather, trains between Bowie and Washington could operate as late as 45 minutes due to operating at restricted speeds, according to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) website, mta.maryland.gov/. Also, Train 409 (departing Baltimore at 6:13 a.m.) is canceled due to a crew issue, Train 874 (departing Martinsburg at 5:25 a.m.) was operating 23 minutes late, and train 892 (departing Frederick at 6:10 a.m.) was operating 13 to 15 minutes late.

* The Light Rail, Metro Subway, Commuter Buses and Local Bus Services are all running on time, according to the MTA website.

* The weather today is expected to be sunny with a high near 70 degrees and winds between 8 and 11 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service's website, forecast.weather.gov. Tonight, it's expected to be clear with a low around 45 degrees.

* Work to improve U.S. Alternate 40 and Poffenberger Road is underway, and Poffenberger Road is closed between Garis Shop Road and Sharpsburg Pike (Md. 65). U.S. Alternate 40 may be reduced to one lane at times. Workers are assisting traffic there when needed.

* Work to improve the intersection of U.S. 40 and Md. 63 is expected to continue until the spring of 2013, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration. Workers are assisting traffic in the area when needed, and expect lane closures at different times.

* As part of the bridge rehabilitation project on I-70 at Conococheague Creek, single-lane closures on the bridge are possible in both directions  from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Thursday, according to an email from Heather Keels of the Maryland State Highway Administration.
