Stevenson to be installed as minister

BOONSBORO — On Sunday, the Rev. Don R. Stevenson will be installed as minister of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Boonsboro. 

Trinity Reformed is a member of the United Church of Christ and was established in 1752.

The service will be conducted by the Catoctin Association of the United Church of Christ. The Rev. Carol Kipe will give the installation sermon.

A native of Denmark, S.C., Stevenson has lived in the Hagerstown area for more than 40 years.

From 1977 to 1983, he was the director of communications at JLG Industries in McConnellsburg, Pa., and later president of DSA, a management and consulting firm in the Tri-State area. 

Stevenson served as senior minister of Trinity UCC in Waynesboro, Pa., from 1986 to 1995, and Christ Reformed UCC in Hagerstown from 1995 to 2008, before early retirement. 

Stevenson is an adjunct instructor in philosophy, ethics and world religions at Hagerstown and Frederick community colleges. He is a member of Hagerstown Rotary Club, Ethics Advisory of Washington County


Board of Education, Interfaith Coalition of Washington County, C-Safe of Hagerstown and Choose Civility of Washington County.

Stevenson is a graduate of Clemson University and Wake Forest seminary earning a Bachelor of Science, Master’s of Divinity and Master of Theology.
