Florence Pearl Wilkerson, age 91, of Hancock, Md., died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.

Born April 23, 1921, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late James Samual and Margaret Brown Oliver Resley, and the widow of Ray M. Keefer Sr.

She was a 1939 graduate of Hancock High School and attended WV Beauty School in Martinsburg, W.Va.  She was a self-employed beautician, operating K & W Beauty Salon in Hancock.

She was a lifetime member-at-large of Hancock Lioness Club; and a member of Hancock American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, AARP and Hancock Historical Society.

She was the oldest member of Hancock United Methodist Church, attending for 71 years.

She is survived by one sister, Adele Douglas of Hancock; and grandchildren, Lantz Ray Keefer of Emmitsburg, Md., and Erik Lynn Keefer and Jewel Leigh Keefer, both of Hagerstown.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ray M. Keefer Jr.

A memorial service will be Thursday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. at Hancock United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Bynum will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock United Methodist Church, for the Monterey House, 168 W. Main St., Hancock, MD 21750.
