Scholarship seminar planned for Sept. 27

The Community Foundation of Washington County is offering a free scholarship seminar for high school juniors and seniors Thursday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the foundation headquarters, 33 W. Franklin St., suite 203, in Hagerstown.

The seminar will touch on financial aid and filling out the various applications.

Registration is required.

Public meeting to be held on proposed dog park

A public meeting on the proposed dog park at Hager Park off Frederick Street in Hagerstown will be held Monday, Sept. 24, at City Hall in Hagerstown.

Pending approval by the Hagerstown mayor and council, the purpose of the meeting is to define usage and responsibility as well as seek input on the design. The meeting will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1 E. Franklin St., second floor, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

E. Russell Hicks plans book fair

E. Russell Hicks Middle School will hold a book fair through Sept. 28 at the school. 

Dig out a few extra dollars and help to sponsor the programs at your child’s school and sit back and smile as they  discover the journey that they can take though the written word.
