HCC edges Delaware Tech in men's soccer

NEW CASTLE, Del. — Brandon Redman, Mamdou Jallow and Osman Ramizov each scored a goal for Hagerstown Community College in the Hawks’ 3-2 victory over Delaware Tech on Sunday.

Genc Sopa had an assist and Chucky Kipe had five saves for the Hawks (3-3).

Shepherd 1, Concord 0

ATHENS, W.Va. — Kevin Doyle scored the lone goal and Alex Aleshire had six saves for the shutout as Shepherd improved to 3-2-1 (1-0 WVIAC) with a win over Concord (1-4, 0-2).

ATHENS, W.Va. — Kylie Duffin scored on an assist from Lexi Vondrak for Shepherd (1-3, 1-1) in the overtime loss to Concord (1-4-1, 1-2).

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Shepherd fell to 0-4 (0-2 WVIAC) with the loss to Concord (1-2, 1-2).

Shepherd got singles wins from Katelynn Mumaw at No. 1, Alice D’Alauro at No. 2 and Emily Johnson at No. 5. Mumaw and D’Alauro also teamed for a victory at No. 1 doubles.

DILLSBURG, Pa. — Monica Beck had a goal and assist for Waynesboro in its win over Northern York on Saturday.

Mallory Patterson and Jade Swope each had a goal for the Maidens (3-2), while Lauren Wagaman had two assists, Alysha McCleaf added an assist and Nicole Kreimer had two saves in the win.

JV: Waynesboro, 1-0.

Cedar Cliff 4, Chambersburg 0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Emily Neady made 19 saves for Chambersburg (1-6) in the loss Saturday.


Shalom wins tournament

WILLOW HILL, Pa. — Shalom defeated Mercersburg Academy 25-23, 25-22 in the championship match at the Fannett-Metal Tournament on Saturday.

In pool play, Shalom swept Mercersburg, Fannett-Metal (varsity), Saint James and Fannett-Metal (JV) in two games each.

Shalom’s Tori Yoder was named the tourney MVP.

RIDGELEY, W.Va. — Berkeley Springs went 0-3 at the PVC Quad on Saturday, losing to Petersburg 25-21, 25-18, Keyser 25-15, 22-25, 25-20 and Frankfort 25-7, 25-7.
