ST. JAMES — Amanda Snowden had 14 kills and Peyton Belella had 24 assists to lead Smithsburg past Saint James on Friday.

Hollie Winders had eight kills and 11 service points, and Haley Caudell added five kills for the Leopards (4-1).

Saint James fell to 0-4.

Shalom 3, Faith Christian 0

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Jasmin Earl had five aces for Faith Christian Academy in a 26-24, 25-14, 25-20 Mason Dixon Christian Conference loss to Shalom Christian Academy (4-4).

Olivia Stoddard and Michele Brooks had five digs each for the Falcons (1-5).

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Marin Kearns had nine kills for Cumberland Valley Christian School in a 25-18, 25-18, 30-28 sweep of Grace Academy in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Karli Fogal had 16 assists and 11 service points, Anna Bunting had seven kills, 14 service points and five aces and Laiton Suders had six kills and five digs for the Blazers.

HCC starts 1-1 at tourney

LaPLATA, Md. — Hagerstown Community College defeated Wake Tech 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20 and lost to Catawba Valley 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22 on Friday in the first day of the Southern Maryland Tournament.

Against Wake Tech, Emmalyn Stahl had 15 kills and 13 digs for HCC, while Elise Broadwater had nine kills and eight blocks, Victoria Broadwater had 27 digs and Paige Kitchen had 32 assists.

Against Catawba Valley, Stahl had 16 kills and 18 digs, Callie Butts had 10 kills and 19 digs, Manning had 10 kills, Kitchen 39 assists and Tiffany Rohrer had 22 digs for the Hawks (4-1).
