1. Pottery festival

Cumberland Valley Pottery Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Renfrew Park, 1010 E. Main St., Waynesboro, Pa. Park in Renfrew's lower lot off Welty Road. A clay-only celebration of the ceramic arts. Sponsored by Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies and the Mont Alto Pottery Guild. 2. Band Spectacular

Maryland high school bands include Boonsboro, Liberty, Eldersburg and South Hagerstown, plus schools from Virginia and West Virginia. Event is 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Martinsburg High School, Cobourn Field, 701 S. Queen St., Martinsburg, W.Va. $6; $4 for students and senior citizens; free for ages 5 and younger. 3. Bugs!

Wil Hershberger will lead a family-oriented walk to look at insects at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. Meet at the large C&O Canal parking lot on Canal Road, three-tenths of a mile south of the Shepherds-town/Sharpsburg bridge over the Potomac River. Bring a flashlight and be prepared to walk through high grass and weeds. The walk will be canceled if it rains. Space is limited. 4. In remembrance

Antietam Remembrance Walk will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16.  The three-mile walk commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam. 5:30 p.m. Walk starts in Sharpsburg and goes to Shepherdstown, W.Va. Go to www.antietamremembrance.org.



5. Kiss a frog
