MYERSVILLE, Md. — On Aug. 24, Girls Inc. members attended the inaugural Challenge at Musket Ridge golf tournament, which was part of the LPGA’s Symetra Tour.

The Symetra Tour provides rising stars in women’s golf with an opportunity to prepare for a career on the LPGA tour.

It’s the world’s largest international women’s development tour, which is committed to developing LPGA stars while creating viable role models for youths.

While on the trip, the girls were able to walk the course and watch the golfers in action.

The girls said they learned a lot about golfing etiquette.
The golfers showed their excitement when they saw the girls. Not only did the Girls Inc. members get high fives and “hellos” from many of the golfers, but golfer Nicole Jeray hopped into the picture right before the girls left the event and talked to the girls for a few minutes.

The group was then led to a special area that overlooked the golf course and the mountains where the Musket Ridge staff provided a meal for the Girls Inc. group.

The staff from Musket Ridge Golf Course was so impressed with the behavior and enthusiasm of the girls, they invited the girls to come back next year.

The girls were treated like royalty, and said it was an amazing experience, one they will never forget.

The staff at Girls Inc., on Washington Avenue in Hagerstown, was grateful for the opportunity and look forward to a collaboration with the LPGA to implement a youth golf program at Girls Inc. this fall.
