Wilbur H. Grahe, of Ravenwood Assisted Living, passed away Sept. 9, 2012, of natural causes.

He was born July 25, 1919, in Baltimore, Md., the son of the late Edward C. Grahe and Annie Rebecca Woody Grahe.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Leona Fisher Grahe.

He attended Southern High School and Essex Community College.

He worked for Kirk Silver as a silversmith, and at various trucking companies, retiring from Esskay Meat Co. He then taught disadvantaged children for Battle Monument School.

During retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling. He became a Washington County Hospital volunteer in 1990.

He was an active member of Church of Holy Trinity United Church of Christ.

He was a member of Hagerstown Elks Lodge 378.

He is survived by two daughters, Leona Elizabeth DeLauter and husband, Robert F. DeLauter, of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Frances I. Grahe of Cockeysville, Md.; two sons, the Rev. Dr. W. Arthur Grahe and wife, Gloria, of York Pa., and Raymond A. Grahe and wife, Alma, of Williamsport, Md.; one brother, William Grahe of Delaware; nine grandchildren, Kurt Bond, Barbara McNamee and husband, Frederick, Brenda Schroeder and husband, Robert, Julie Grahe Keel, D.C., and husband, Howard, Alison Seitz and husband, Clayton, Jon Grahe, Ph.D., and wife, Lisa, Jason Grahe, Aimee Grahe, and Joshua Grahe, D.O., and wife, Yasmin Bohora, D.O.; and 20 great-grandchildren, Derek McNamee and wife, Eve, Ashley Decker and husband, Tim, Robert Schroeder Jr., Allison Schroeder, John Schroeder, Danielle Schroeder, Gabriel Bond, Zoe Seitz, Maya Seitz, Brandon Seitz, Joshua Keel, Timothy Keel, James Keel, Joseph Keel, Alexandra Grahe, Brady Grahe, Ethan Grahe-Cody, Reese Grahe, Madison Grahe and William Grahe.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
