Did you know?

Did you know that in days gone by, one of the area’s favorite pastimes was square dances? The dances were held in the Odd Fellows Hall in Clear Spring or in various private homes. Some of the families who held the dances were the Seiberts, the Fierys, the Troupes, the Cushwas and the Kreighs. For the guests who did not care to dance, card tables were set up in other areas for them. “Five Hundred” was a popular card game back then.
