Fall-like weather is nice

September 10, 2012|Susie Hoffman | Around Funkstown

Hello dear friends, and welcome fall. I simply adore the chill in the mornings, and the ability to open the windows and let the outside in.

School is now a routine and Friday nights are for high school football. Here are a few other things happening in our area:

Basket bingo to be held

The Funkstown Lions Club will hold a basket bingo Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Funkstown fire hall.

The doors open at 1 p.m. The proceeds will benefit the Emma K. Doub Elementary School PTA and other community projects.

There will be 25 games. Food will be available.

For more information, call Mike Line at 301-667-1212.

Yard sale planned

Providing Relief for Autistic Youth, or PRAY, will hold a yard sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 20301 Barbara Drive in Hagerstown.

Household items, as well as books and clothing, will be available for purchase.

Alumni to meet Thursday at school

The South Hagerstown High School Alumni Association will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the school’s media center.

Agenda items to be discussed include results from the golf tournament, the upcoming yard sale, the disbursement of scholarships, and homecoming and tailgating in October.

All graduates, parents and staff are welcome to attend.
