Pooch Plunge

On Sept. 1, the Humane Society of Washington County, Inc.  and the Town of Williamsport hosted a Pooch Plunge at L. Beard Miller Pool at Byron Memorial Park in Williamsport. The event drew more than 50 dogs and helped raise more than $350 for the shelter.

Humane Society Executive Director Paul Miller said the plunge was a dual-purpose fundraiser. “This event enhances the human- canine bond while also helping raise funds for homeless and at-risk animals in Washington County.”

Dr. Sandra Smith from Spring Mills Veterinary Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va., attended  the event. “This is always such an enjoyable event. I look forward to seeing the dogs and people having such a good time together.” To see pictures of the event, visit the HSWC Facebook page.

The Humane Society would like to thank the Town of Williamsport and lifeguards for permitting use of the pool for the fundraiser.
