Police seek information about Madison Ave. burglary

Hagerstown police are seeking information about suspects from a Saturday morning burglary at 73 Madison Ave. in which a shotgun and knife were displayed, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release.

Police were searching for Richard William Nicewarner, 29, of Hagerstown, on charges of first-degree burglary, theft and second-degree assault. They said he carried a shotgun during the robbery.

The second suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with short, dark hair and unkempt facial hair, police said. He is believed to be about 6 feet tall and about 160 pounds, police said.

The second suspect was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and white or tan pants, and he was armed with a knife during the burglary, police said.

Police said a victim reported two men entered a home demanding money and fled with a bottle of prescription medication after being told there was no money.

Information is being sought about the incident and Nicewarner’s whereabouts, police said.

Charitable donations jug stolen

BOONSBORO — Police in Boonsboro were looking for a man who stole a jug containing donations for a charitable cause from Vesta’s Pizzeria and Family Restaurant on Thursday.

The man walked into the restaurant at 2 S. Main St. just before 3 p.m. and took the jug, police said. He was riding a blue and black motor scooter and was wearing a Dallas Cowboys bicycle or skateboard helmet, police said.

Copper wire stolen from Fulton County business

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — The theft of copper wire valued at more than $2,000 from a Fulton County business was being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police.

About 20 rolls of wire were stolen between Aug. 29 and Tuesday from BHS Electrical at 654 Big Cove Tannery Road, troopers said. Although the business has a Mercersburg address, troopers said it is in Thompson Township in Fulton County.

Copper stolen from Guilford Township house

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police in Franklin County were investigating the theft of copper from a Guilford Township house, although it could have been stolen anytime during a period of about two years.

All of the copper pipes were stolen from the house in the 3800 block of Fetterhoff Chapel Road, troopers said. The theft occurred between Nov. 20, 2010, and Monday, troopers said.



Police looking for information in Fannett Township burglary

WILLOW HILL, Pa. — More than $2,500 was reported stolen in a burglary in Fannett Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police in Franklin County said.

A house in the 14400 block of Shady Pine Lane was entered and $2,517 was taken between Aug. 27 and Tuesday, troopers said.
