September 08, 2012

The Meadows of Hagerstown held its sixth annual 50s-Style Freeze ‘Cool Your Paws’ to benefit the Humane Society of Washington County on Aug. 18.

On Aug. 22, Michael Illig, manager, presented the animals shelter with a $500 check.

“This year’s event was a winner, the dogs loved it!” said Connie Illig.  “Attendance and the weather couldn’t have been better. In fact, we doubled our donation this year to the HSWC.”

Paul Miller, executive director of the shelter, was impressed with the event.

“Once again it was a tremendous success.” Miller said.

Adoptable shelter dog, Ben, welcomed visitors to the event. Vendors in attendance were Marley’s Gourmet Treats, Pet-O-Bed specially designed beds, Certified Professional Dog Trainer Karol Kennedy, HeartyPet, Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort, Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown and Stacy Harnish, Silpada Designs.  Entertainment was provided by local Williamsport and DogFoot Acoustics.

Free frozen custard treats were enjoyed by the many four-legged guests who attended the event with their owners.

The Meadows is at 222 East Oak Ridge Drive in Hagerstown.
