BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. — Greencastle-Antrim came into Boiling Springs with ground-and-pound gameplan and the Blue Devils executed it to perfection, gaining 219 yards on the ground in a 28-3 victory.

Most of the scoring for Greencastle (1-1) came in the first half. Adam Moore put the Blue Devils on the board with a 2-yard run on Greencastle’s first offensive possession. Ashtin Byers added two more touchdowns on the ground in the first half to put the Blue Devils up 21-0.

Moore led Greencastle with 79 rushing yards. Byers was second with 54.

“I didn’t get fancy tonight,” said Greencastle coach Chuck Tinninis. “I wanted them to keep the ball on the ground. I wanted them to keep possession and I wanted everyone to know their assignments to make this game work.”

The Blue Devils never allowed Boiling Springs to get into a rhythm on offense. The Bubblers only managed 176 total yards, 78 of which came on the legs of fullback Kai Delp. Quarterback Tyler Wise only managed to complete three passes for 31 yards.

Boiling Springs (0-2) didn’t get on the board until the end of the first half, when kicker Colin Frownfelter drilled a 35-yarder through the uprights in the final seconds.

However, the Blue Devils answered with a touchdown in the third quarter. Joel Zola made a juggling catch of a 40-yard pass by Austin Scott in the back corner of the end zone for the final score.

“I thought the pass was defended pretty well,” said Tinninis. “(Zola) made a good catch in concentration, and Scotty put the ball where the reciever could make a play.”
