Morning MoJo report - Sept. 7

Here is the Morning MoJo Report for Friday, Sept. 7:

* As of 7 a.m., traffic was a little sluggish on I-495 in both directions and I-270 southbound, but was running fine on all the other interstates throughout the area.

* On the MARC Train, due to signal and switch problems in various areas, Brunswick Line trains and Camden Line trains were expected to operate up to 40 minutes late in some places. Also, Penn Line Train 404 (departing Washington at 6:35 a.m.) was running 15 to 20 minutes late.

* The Light Rail, Metro Subway, Commuter Buses, and Local Bus Services were all running on time, according to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) website, mta.maryland.gov/.

* The weather today is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 90 degrees, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., patchy fog before 9 a.m., winds between 5 and 7 miles per hour, and a 20 percent chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service's website, forecast.weather.gov. Tonight, it's expected to be partly cloudy with a low around 69 degrees and wind around 8 mph.
 
* Work to improve U.S. Alternate 40 and Poffenberger Road is under way, and Poffenberger Road was scheduled to close beginning Tuesday between Garis Shop Road and Sharpsburg Pike (Md. 65). U.S. Alternate 40 may be reduced to one lane at times. Workers are assisting traffic there when needed.
