WILLIAMSPORT — A Williamsport man who has been charged with sexually abusing two girls had his bond reduced Thursday from $250,000 to $75,000 during a bond review hearing in Washington County District Court.

Jason Meredith Hitchner, 29, is charged with two counts each of sex abuse of a minor and sex abuse of a minor in a continuing course of conduct, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The second charge refers to the sex abuse allegedly occurring more than three times, according to Deputy 1st Class Carly Hose, a public information officer with the sheriff’s office.

During the bond hearing before District Judge R. Noel Spence, Deputy State’s Attorney Steven Kessell said Hitchner had no criminal record in Maryland, but he did receive probation for a sexual offense case in New Jersey about 10 years ago.

“That’s not true,” Hitchner said over closed-circuit television from the county detention center where he was being held.
