Tag Day event planned

The Williamsport Blue Band will hold its annual Tag Day event Saturday, starting at approximately 9:30 a.m. with the band members, dressed in their band T-shirts, going door to door in their attendance area collecting donations.

Due to the size of their attendance area, they might not make it to every home, so if they don’t stop by your house and you want to contribute, mail your donation, made payable to Williamsport High School, to Williamsport Blue Band Boosters, PO Box 212, Williamsport, MD 21795.

The Blue Band and its boosters are very grateful for the community’s continued support and look forward to seeing you.

Williamsport High School to host alumni soccer game

Williamsport High Wildcats will be hosting an alumni soccer game on Sept. 21 (Friday night of Homecoming) at 6:30 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30.

A silent auction, raffles and food will be available. Washington Redskins and D.C. United tickets are just a few of the items being offered.


Proceeds from this event benefit Washington County CARES organization as well as the Brendon Colliflower fund.

Elvis Tribute event to be held in Hagerstown

The Hagerstown Day Nursery presents an Elvis Tribute by Kevin Booth on Friday, Sept. 14, at the Elks Lodge in Hagerstown.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a concert to follow at 7. Tickets cost $10 per person. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Hog roast, ride to benefit Jason Hoover foundation

A Hog Roast and Ride to benefit Jason Hoover/The National Keratoconus Foundation will be Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Red Men Pavilion in Williamsport.

Tickets cost $10 per person for the ride and/or roast. Registration will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the ride to begin at 1. Bands and gaming will be held at the Red Men Pavilion at 2 p.m. Food will be served beginning at 2:30.

A cash bar will be available.

Donations may also be made to M&T Bank Jason Hoover Eye Surgery Fund.

Williamsport food bank to host Harvest Hoedown

The Harvest Hoedown is scheduled to take place in Byron Memorial Park in Williamsport on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A day of fun-filled events is planned with scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, a silent action, children’s games, petting zoo, good food and much more.

The event is sponsored by the Williamsport Ministerium and is a fundraiser for the Williamsport Food Bank.

Donations of food items will be accepted on the day of the Hoedown.
