Morning MoJo report - Sept. 4

Here is the Morning MoJo Report for Tuesday, Sept. 4:

As of 7 a.m., traffic was a little sluggish on I-495 westbound and I-270 southbound, but was running fine on all the other interstates throughout the area.

* The MARC Train, Light Rail, Metro Subway, Commuter Buses, and Local Bus Services were all running on time and operating on their regular schedules, according to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) website, mta.maryland.gov/.

* The weather today is expected to be cloudy with a high near 83 degrees, a chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m., patchy fog before 10 a.m., winds between 5 and 13 miles per hour, and a 70 percent chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service's website, forecast.weather.gov. Tonight, it's expected to be cloudy with a low around 69 degrees, showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm, patchy fog after 2 a.m., winds between 7 and 10 mph, and a 70 percent chance of precipitation.

* Work to improve U.S. Alternate 40 and Poffenberger Road is under way, and Poffenberger Road is scheduled to close Tuesday between Garis Shop Road and Sharpsburg Pike (Md. 65). U.S. Alternate 40 may be reduced to one lane at times. Workers are assisting traffic there when needed.

* Antietam Street eastbound is closed between South Potomac Street and Renaissance Way for work on the Washington County Free Library Project, according to a traffic advisory from the City of Hagerstown's website, www.hagerstownmd.org. The road is expected to remain closed Tuesday and Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
