Kline family holds reunion

SMITHSBURG — On July 22, the descendants of the late George and Laura (Dubel) Kline held their annual family reunion at Smithsburg Lions Community Park. Forty individuals attended, including four first cousins.

After Raymond Kline, reunion president, offered the prayer, the family enjoyed a buffet lunch. Other officers are Jaye Kline, treasurer, and Joan Willard, secretary.

Prizes were given to oldest woman — Hilda Cartee, who is 85; oldest man — Joe Miller, who is 82; longest married couple — Joe and Geraldine (Kline) Miller, who have been married 62 years (Dec. 25, 1949); traveled the farthest — Raven Conner, Mylah and Tyler (Woodsboro, Md.); and youngest babies — twins Mylah Dare Covell and Tyler Scott Covell (born Sept. 2, 2011), daughter and son of Raven Conner and Andy Covell. Numerous prizes also were awarded.

Those attending included, from the Jim and Ada (Kline) Kline family — Wayne and Gloria Kline; Ray and Jaye Kline; Donald and Linda Kline; Sheila Henson; Melissa Kline and Travis Lescalleet; Ted Miller; and Carrie T. Bates.

From the Theodore and Lefa Edith (Barkman) Kline family — Harold and Joann Willard; Tony and Cheryl Fredrikis and Tara; Gordon and Rhonda Conner; Raven Conner, Mylah and Tyler Covell; Bev Smith; J.R. and Davena Dunkin; Amber Dagenhart, Wesley and Tim; Kevin Haupt; and Joe and Geraldine Miller.

From the Equilla and Edna (Wolfe) Kline family — Meran and Mary Kline; Misty Hawes and Leeah; Haylee and Jazlyn Reese; Hilda Cartee; Karen Lewis; and Bud and Darleane Moser.

The reunion will be held in 2013 on the fourth Sunday in July.
