Pa. students receive scholarships

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Franklin County Foundation, a regional foundation of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, has announced its 2012 scholarship winners. The foundation administers 11 funds that provide scholarships to students in Franklin County.

Scholarships can be established by individual donors, corporations and are often in honor or memory of a loved one.

Awardees for 2012 scholarships are:
Bryce Arnold (Beistle Co. Scholarship); Matthew Levine (Waynesboro (Pa.) Community Concert Association’s Joseph Bowers Scholarship Fund); Devin Dietrich (Chambersburg (Pa.) High School Class of 1963); Paul Lessard, and Monica Miller (Henry and Janet Guarriello Scholarship Fund); Mindy Hooven (Gordon B. and Josephine Hewlett Memorial Scholarship Fund); Courtney Friese (Dr. and Mrs. Charles M. Markle Scholarship); Georgeanne Carnevalino (Keith A. Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship); Hannah Ashberry (J. Ward Sleichter and Frances F. Sleichter Memorial Scholarship Award); Mindy Hooven (Lois and Norman Sollenberger Scholarship); and Daniele Sipes (Soroptimist International of Chambersburg Fund).

A total of $32,993 was awarded through scholarships for the 2012/13 school year.
