PREP VOLLEYBALL

HANCOCK — Alisa Shives had three kills, 10 assists, 11 service points and five aces as Hancock won its season opener with a 25-11, 25-22, 25-8 sweep of Paw Paw on Friday.

Kara McKinley had three kills, seven assists, eight service points and five aces and Sara Wagner had seven kills, a block, seven service points and four aces for the Panthers (1-0).

JV: Hancock, 2-1.

Goretti 3, Saint James 2

ST. JAMES — Drew Holderby had 15 digs, 11 assists and six kills for St. Maria Goretti in its 25-10, 25-20, 19-25, 14-25, 15-7 victory over Saint James.

Emma Hogan had 17 assists and five kills and Abbey Eich had eight kills for the Gaels (1-1).

For Saint James, McKenna Hough had 18 kills, Kim Wooster had six kills and 13 service points, Sung Wha Kang had 22 assists, Candace Yang had 16 service points and Sophie Abeles had 10 service points.

Heritage 3, Grace 0

Kara Stamper had 23 kills, two blocks, 12 service points and five aces to lead Heritage Academy in a 25-17, 25-14, 25-23 Mason Dixon Christian conference sweep of Grace Academy.

Nicole Gaylor had 20 digs, Chloe Prejean had 18 assists, two kills, nine service points and five aces, Hannah Muller had three aces, Bethany Powell had 10 digs and Brittany Horchner had eight service points for the Eagles (4-0).

Heather Groves had seven assists, seven service points and four aces, Caitlin Cox had eight assists, Brooke Morgan had seven kills and seven digs and Allie Cox had four kills and seven digs for the Knights.

Faith 3, Broadfording 2

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Michele Brooks had 28 service points and seven aces to lead Faith Christian Academy to its first win of the season with a 17-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-22, 15-8 Mason Dixon Christian Conference victory over Broadfording Christian Academy.

Brooks scored the last five service points of the match, including two straight aces, to seal the win for the Falcons (1-3).

Laurie Hercules and Bethany Williams had four kills and four blocks each and Olivia Stoddard had three kills, four digs and two aces.

Calvary 3, Shalom 2

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Tori Yoder had 11 kills, 24 digs and an ace for Shalom Christian Academy in a 23-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 15-13 loss to Calvary Christian in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Brooke Poe had five kills, 20 digs and 10 service points, Brooke Kuhns had three kills, Kristen Blank had 14 assists and eight service points, Kasey Ebersole had eight assists and three aces and Steph Bricker had 14 digs and two kills for the Flames.

JV: Shalom, 2-1.
