August 31, 2012

A man wanted in connection with a Tuesday robbery of the F&M Trust Bank branch at the Penn Village Shopping Center in McConnellsburg, Pa., was captured Friday in Baltimore, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Fulton County.

Aaron Lee Deneen, 27, of 380 Lions Park Drive, McConnellsburg, was detained about 3 p.m., and is expected to be extradited to Pennsylvania, police said in a news release.

A man entered the bank at 2:39 p.m. and gave a handwritten note to one of the tellers that read “give me what you have and you will not get hurt,” police said.

The teller gave the man $6,692 in cash, and the man “asked politely” for the note back, police said.

No weapon was shown during the robbery, police said.

A bank employee told police “without doubt” that Deneen was the man who took the money, police said. Deneen has an account with the bank and has been in the branch on other occasions, police said.

On one of those visits, Deneen applied for a loan but was denied, police said.
