Indians' Wise closes in on state record for goals

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Zach Wise had three goals and an assist to lead Berkeley Springs to a 5-1 victory over Petersburg on Tuesday.

Wise, a senior, now has 118 career goals, one shy of tying the West Virginia state record. His next shot at the record will come Thursday, when the Indians (2-3) host Frankfort.

Also for Berkeley Springs on Tuesday, Liam Khuen and Cain Ooten each had a goal, Quentin Thompson, Kirk Stielman and Jake Truax each had an assist, Jeff Breeden had three saves and Brandon Krawzyck had two saves.

Heritage 3, New Life 1

Bryce Nigh, David Fisler and Ian Rohrbaugh each scored a goal and Tristan Prejean had an assist for Heritage Academy in the victory.

Shalom 4, Broadfording 1

David Stocker scored for Broadfording in its Mason Dixon Christian Conference loss to Shalom.

Heritage Academy 3, New Life 1

Kara Stamper had 26 kills, five blocks and three aces to lead Heritage Academy to a 21-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-16 victory over New Life in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Chloe Prejean had 20 assists and two aces, Hannah Gaylor had 10 service points, five digs, two kills and an ace, Christi Jackson had seven kills, Bethany Powell had seven service points, Brittany Horchner had eight service points and three aces and Nicole Gaylor had 12 digs for the Eagles (3-0).

Shalom 3, Broadfording 2

Tori Yoder had seven kills, 20 digs, 11 service points and two aces for Shalom Christian Academy in a 19-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-16, 15-7 victory over Broadfording Christian in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Brooke Poe had five kills, 17 digs and three aces, Kristen Blank had seven assists and six aces, Josey Fisak had 17 digs, Kasey Ebersole had four assists and two aces, Brooke Kuhns had three kills and two aces and Lexy Poe had two blocks for the Flames.

JV: Shalom, 2-0.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Olivia Stoddard had five kills for Faith Christian in its 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 loss to Cumberland Valley Christian School.

Beaver Creek Country Club member Dempsey Socks recorded his first career hole-in-one. Socks hit a 7-iron from 172 yards on the 13th hole on Monday. He was playing wih Chris Mullen.
