Women's Club to host coffee for prospective new members

The Women’s Club, at 31 S. Prospect St. in Hagerstown, will host an opening coffee Friday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Any women interested in joining the club and learning about all of its activities are welcome to attend.

This is the 92nd year the club has been a part of the Hagerstown community.

5K benefit run

A 5K run will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg.

Registration costs $25 if you register before Sept. 30 and $30 after Sept. 30.

All proceeds will go to the Mackenzie McCarter Fund. Mackenzie was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2007 and was in remission until May when her cancer returned.
