FCC Alumni Golf Tournament

The Frederick Community College Alumni Association and the FCC Athletics Department will host its 17th annual golf tournament fundraiser on Sept. 4 at Holly Hills Country Club in Ijamsville, Md. A buffet lunch will be donated by Carrabba’s Italian Grill after the tournament and will also include prizes and an auction. Players can sign in from 8 to 8:45 a.m., with play starting at 9 in a scramble format. Pre-registration is required, with space for 36 foursomes. Cost is $500 per team or $125 per individual. Youth soccer challenge

The local competition of the 2012 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge will be held on Sept. 22 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Poor House Farm Park in Martinsburg, W.Va. The penalty-kick event is for boys and girls in divisions ranging from ages 10 to 14.
