Kathleen Elsie Slick, 88, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012.

Family was the most important part of her life. She loved and was loved dearly by her family.

Born Sept. 12, 1923, she was the daughter of late Frederick L. Slick Sr. and Elsie Barnhart-Slick.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.

She retired from Maidstone as office manager in 1987.

She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church for 77 years. She was active in the Fidelity Sunday school class and served as treasurer for numerous years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was active in missions programs and attended conferences in Florida.

She was a volunteer for the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, where she served as treasurer. She was a member of the Hagerstown Business and Professional Women’s Association. She volunteered at Lincolnshire Elementary in the reading mentor program.

She is survived by the following siblings: Betty J. Byers and husband, Roy, of Hagerstown, and Jack W. Slick and wife, Ginny, of Clear Spring Md.; and sister-in-law, Patricia Slick of Hagerstown; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick L. Slick Jr. and William H. Slick.

Graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen Robison will officiate.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, from 6 to 8 p.m.
