Ace was known for his great sense of humor, generous spirit and natural gift of talking to people. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters and great-granddaughter. He also enjoyed attending the Retired Railroaders Breakfast Club.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Connie C. Brown of Chambersburg; one daughter, Bonita J. Pheil and husband, Daniel, of Hagerstown; one son, Charles R. Brown Jr. and wife, Mary, of Williamsport, Md.; granddaughter, Tricia L. Johnson, and great-granddaughter, Amelia Grace Johnson, of Hagerstown; granddaughter, Jennifer L. Grove and husband, Ryan, of Hagerstown; and granddaughter, Lauren R. Broadwater and husband, Corey, of Hagerstown. He is also survived by a brother, Junior Brown, and wife, Janet, of Chambersburg; sister, Thelma Umbrell of Toledo, Ohio; sister-in-law, Helen Brown of Chambersburg, wife of his late brother, Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ace was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul Brown.
A memorial service with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. The service will be officiated by Pastor Troy Gearhart.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
