Senior center at Girls Inc. to hold Bring a Friend Day

The senior center at Girls Inc. will hold Bring a Friend Day on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Those 55 and older are invited to attend Wednesday classes that day at the center, at 626 Washington Ave. in Hagerstown.

The schedule includes:

• 9 a.m. — Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, newspaper and socializing
• 10 to 11:30 a.m. — Line dancing
• 10 to 11 a.m. — Group piano
• 10 a.m. to noon — Painting class
• 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Cards/dominoes
• 11 a.m. to noon — “Walk Away Pounds”
• 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. — Bead class
• 1 to 2 p.m. — Chair yoga

• There will also be a tribute to Conway Twitty with Kevin Booth from 1 to 1:45 p.m.

Lunch will be served at noon. The menu includes roasted chicken, sweet potato casserole, cooked spinach, dinner roll, pineapple and milk.

Lunch reservations are required by Thursday, Sept. 13. A $5 donation per person will be accepted.

Class of 1947 to meet Sept. 15

The Hagerstown High School Class of 1947 will hold its 65th class reunion Saturday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Hagerstown.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

Tickets cost $20 per person.

Class of 1949 plans luncheon

The Hagerstown High School Class of 1949 will hold its 63rd class reunion Thursday, Sept. 20, at noon at the Western Sizzlin’ steakhouse on York Road in Halfway.

Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. No reservation is needed.
