Hagerstown man among three charged in theft, assault at a Frederick liquor store

FREDERICK, Md. — A Hagerstown man was among three people charged in a Friday night theft and assault at a Frederick liquor store, Frederick police said.

Kiancey Jamel Slocumb, who turned 21 on Friday, was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, theft under $100 and criminal conspiracy to commit theft, police said. His address was listed as the 300 block of South Potomac Street in Hagerstown.

At 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at Westridge Liquors at 1045 W. Patrick St., police said. When police arrived, store employees and witnesses pointed out four people, who were then detained, police said.

Video surveillance showed that no weapon was involved, police said.

Three of the four people who were detained, including Slocumb, were charged in the incident, police said.

Michael Robert Wynn, 20, of Frederick, was charged with second-degree assault, theft under $100, malicious destruction of property, conspiracy to commit theft and resisting arrest, police said.

Kareem Ali Clymer, 21, of Rockville, Md., was charged with second-degree assault, theft under $100, conspiracy to commit theft and disorderly conduct, police said. He also was charged with giving a false name to police, and later was found to have four active arrest warrants from Montgomery County, police said.
