Lynwood "Boo" Rudolph Moser, 90, of 13144 Little Hayden Circle in Hagerstown, Md., passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at the Earl B. Davis Community Living Center at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Saturday, April 29, 1922, in Chewsville, Md., he was the son of the late Oscar N. and Mary E. Moser.

He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Aviation Cadet Aircrew in Gulfport, Miss., and the 254th Infantry in Grenada, Miss.

He received the Caring Americans Award in 2001.

He was a former employee of Fairchild Aircraft Corp., Aircraft Tool and Research, Pangborn Corp. and Ward Leonard Electric.

He is survived by his two daughters, Yvonne B. Hess and husband, Stephen, of Hagerstown, Md., and Diane C. Bair and husband, Sherwood, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Suzanne B. Hess of Hagerstown and Pamela D. Mellott of Mercersburg, Pa.; one grandson, Mark A. Bair of Smithsburg, Md.; five great-grandchildren; sister, June and husband, Harold Wastler; brother, Eugene and wife, Sonja Moser; a special friend, Irene Baker; and his Itsy Bitsy Little Buddy, Holly.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Berniece Alma Moser; and brother, Aldine N. Moser.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Ruth Bloom will officiate.

The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
