19-year-old Williamsport woman flown to Baltimore with second-degree burns

A 19-year-old Williamsport woman was flown to a Baltimore hospital Thursday night after she was burned on her face, upper torso and leg when somebody threw alcohol on a campfire , the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was flown to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center to be treated for second-degree burns to her face, right shoulder, right arm and left leg, according to a fire marshal’s office news release.

Authorities said the woman was burned when someone threw alcohol on a campfire at the KOA campgrounds at 11759 Snug Harbor Lane in Williamsport.

The incident was reported at 10:18 p.m.
