Children's Nature Walk set for Sept. 8

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — The Potomac Valley Audubon Society will offer a children's nature walk along the C&O Canal in the Shepherdstown area on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The walk will be for children ages 6 to 9. It will teach them how to look for early signs of fall, such as changing leaves and the arrival of new birds in the area.

The walk will last from 9:00 a.m. until noon, and  will start in the large C&O Canal parking lot on Canal Road, three-tenths of a mile south of the Shepherdstown/Sharpsburg bridge.

There will be a $5 fee for each child.

Enrollment will be strictly limited to ensure that all children receive personal attention.

Advanced registration is required.
