BRIEFS

Gary Brown 5-Miler on Saturday

The 31st annual Gary Brown Memorial C&O Canal 5-Mile Run will be held Saturday, starting and ending at Riverbottom Park in Williamsport.

Race-day registration and packet pickup starts at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 8.

The registration fee is $30 (or $20 for students). All finishers will receive a T-shirt and awards will go to the top overall and age-group finishers. For information, contact race director Mike Spinnler at 301-739-7004 or mspinnler@cvac-md.us.

Chambersburg YMCA Sprint Triathlon set for Sept. 29

The Chambersburg YMCA Sprint Triathlon will be held Sept. 29 at the YMCA building at 570 E. McKinley St. The event features a 500-yard swim, a 16-mile bike and a 5K run. Baltimore Hawks lacrosse tryouts
