Political groups holding picnics

Washington County’s two major political parties are holding their annual summer picnics next week.

The Washington County Republican Club’s picnic will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the North American Rod and Gun Club at 12108 Belvedere Road near Hagerstown.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

Tickets cost $25 each for adults and $15 for children ages 7 to 16. Children younger than 7 will be admitted free.

A friendship quilt made by women in the Washington County Republican Club in 1983 will be sold at auction.

The Washington County Democratic Central Committee’s picnic will be Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84, 16129 Lappans Road, Williamsport.


Dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7:15 p.m.

Tickets for adults will cost $25 in advance and $30 at the gate.

Tickets for children ages 6 to 17 and college students with ID will cost $12 in advance and $17 at the gate.

Younger children and active duty members of the military will be admitted at no charge.

Bongino holding local fundraiser

Dan Bongino — a Republican running forU.S. Senateagainst the Democratic incumbent,Benjamin L. Cardin— will hold a fundraiser Aug. 23 in Washington County.

His reception will be at Fountain Head Country Club from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $250 per person.
