‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe?

The Apollo Civic Theatre, 128 E. Martin Street, in Martinsburg, W.Va., will hold auditions for Edward Albee’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.  

Director J.D. Wine is casting for two men and two women age 20s to 50s. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. The play contains adult dialogue and language. Email

‘Out of Order’

The Thurmont Thespians will hold open auditions for the comedy “Out of Order” beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, and Sunday, Aug. 27, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Social Hall, 15 N. Church St., Thurmont, Md.

Masterworks Chorale

Shepherd University’s Masterworks Chorale, under the direction of Erik Reid Jones, will host auditions for the 2012-2013 season at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the rehearsal hall at the Frank Center Theater, 260 University Drive, Shepherdstown, W.Va. Auditions are open to everyone.

Rude Mechanicals

The Rude Mechanicals Medieval and Renaissance Players will hold auditions for Shakespeare’s “The Two Noble Kinsmen” from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30, in Shepherd University’s Reynolds Hall, corner of King and German streets, Shepherdstown, W.Va. 

Male and female actors, dancers, musicians, video artists, and costume and set designers are needed. Some actors experienced in stage combat are needed.

Preparatory Orchestra

Shepherd Preparatory Orchestra will hold auditions for its 14th season at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 for junior and senior Preparatory Orchestra members at Shepherd University’s Frank Center Theater. Positions are open in all string sections.
