Man killed in Shepherdstown Road accident

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle crash Monday night in the 3900 block of Shepherdstown Road in Berkeley County.

The man suffered from blunt-force trauma after being thrown from a BMW he was driving, Berkeley County Medical Examiner Donald Shirley said.

Baker Heights Volunteer Fire Department joined West Virginia State Police at the site of the crash, which prompted officials to shut down the road.

The accident was reported at 8:44 p.m., according to a Berkeley County 911 Central Dispatch supervisor.
