Four charged in series of burglaries

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Four people have been charged in a series of burglaries in the borough, the Chambersburg Police Department said Friday.

The four have been charged in connection with burglaries July 15 and 25 at Jennings Auto Body at 247 Grant St., and July 30 at Jim's Country Market at 225 Grant St., police said.

Anthony Proctor, 23, no fixed address, is charged with three counts each of burglary, criminal conspiracy and theft in the break-ins, police said.

Cody Bowermaster, 25, of 150 S. Third St., is in Franklin County Jail on burglary, criminal conspiracy and theft charges related to the Jim's Country Market burglary, and receiving stolen property for a vehicle taken from Jennings on July 25, police said.

Juliemar Martinez, 18, of 147 S. Sixth St., is charged with receiving stolen property in the July 25 Jennings burglary, and criminal conspiracy and theft in the Jim's Country Market break-in, police said.

Alexis Moore, 18, of 150 S. Third St., is charged with criminal conspiracy and theft in the Jim's Country Market burglary, and receiving stolen property in the July 25 incident at Jennings, police said.

The following incidents were reported by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:

Wednesday at 8 a.m. to Thursday at 8 a.m.

  • Vandalism was reported in the 11600 block of Cedar Ridge Road in Williamsport.
  • Vandalism was reported in the 17500 block of Virginia Avenue in Halfway.
  • Vandalism was reported at Sharpsburg Pike and Norman Drive in Fairplay.
  • A theft was reported in the 16500 block of Hunters Green Parkway near Hagerstown.
  • A theft was reported in the 1400 block of Howell Road near Hagerstown.


Thursday at 8 a.m. to Friday at 8 a.m.

  • Vandalism was reported in the 19100 block of Keep Tryst Road in Knoxville.
  • A theft was reported in the 17200 block of Virginia Avenue in Halfway.
  • A theft was reported in the 11200 block of Tanglewood Court near Hagerstown.
  • A theft was reported in the first block of Catawba Place near Hagerstown.
  • A theft was reported in the 15700 block of Hott Lane in Sharpsburg.
  • A theft was reported in the 17300 block of Virginia Avenue in Halfway.
