Suns gave kids a day to remember

To the editor:

Sunday, July 8, the Hagerstown Suns hosted the Challenger Little League players on the field for a one-inning game where the Suns’ players played the role of ambassadors, coaches and fans all at the same time.

The encouragement and support of the Suns’ players, coaches and entire organization is greatly appreciated by all the parents, coaches and players of Challenger Little League.

This “game” is something our players look forward to from opening day — and we wish to thank the Hagerstown Suns, especially Christy Buchar, Meritus Health and WJEJ AM 1240 for their support in making this special day happen.

The Suns set a great example for our players — aspiring to do the best they can every chance they get.

It was thrilling to hear the Suns’ players and coaches urging Challenger players to hit the ball as hard as they could or to make a strong throw. Then their cheers and high fives made each player’s effort extra special and something our players will remember for a very long time.
