Bone to be Wild ride raises more than $4,000 for Humane Society

The ninth annual Bone to Be Wild, Dave Alderson Memorial Motorcycle Ride on July 15 raised more than $4,000 for the Humane Society of Washington County.

Thirty-six motorcycles and more than 70 riders took part in the event that rode through western Washington County. The ride began at the humane society and ended at Washington County Regional Park. 

Awards were handed out to the riders who earned top pledges for participating in the ride. This year’s honors went to Stan and Denise Bryan, who raised more than $800 in pledges. The second-highest pledge earner was Betty McCrumb, who raised more than $400. The honor of longest distance traveled went to Carol and Buddy Sours, accompanied by Gabrielle, who donated their prize back to the animals at the shelter.

Event sponsors included Cavetown Planing Mill Co., Central Dawgma and the Dawg Wash, Ellsworth Electric, AC&T, CertainTeed, Peaceable Paws, Peaceable Pastures, Harley Davidson of Williamsport, First Hagerstown Hose Co., The Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84, the Alderson Family, M&S Harley Davidson, Staples, Gourmet Goat, Peggy Bushey, Leitersburg Cinemas, Hempen Hill Barbeque, Teresa Koogler DVM, Tires Plus, Midas, Red Star Worldwear and PetSmart.

The Humane Society is at 13011 Maugansville Road in Hagerstown.
