Betty Dianne Beeler, 72, of Hancock, Md., died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Julia Manor in Hagerstown, Md.
Born Sept. 28, 1939, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Bertram Oliver and Clamonce Murray Wilkerson, and the widow of James Edward Beeler, who died May 22, 2012.
She was a 1957 graduate of Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Md.
She retired from C&P Telephone Co. as a communications supervisor.
She had been employed with H.L. Green, and as a staff supervisor for 25 years with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.
She was a member of Ashton United Methodist Church in Sandy Spring, and attended Hancock United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Hancock Lioness Club.
She is survived by one sister, Darlene C. Whisner of Orlando, Fla.; nephews, Scott Leishear, Willard Whisner Jr. and Wesley Whisner of Florida; and nieces, Michele Gentile and Megan Whisner, both of Florida.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Craig McReaken; and one sister, Dona Leishear.
A service will be Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. The Rev. Barbara Suffecool will officiate. Burial will be in Union Memorial Cemetery, McConnellsburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home.
