Esther S. Oyler, 94, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012.

Esther was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Mercersburg, Pa. She enjoyed a varied career from parts control and aircraft construction with Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, Md. during World War II to positions in retail management.

After first moving to Florida in 1968, Esther owned and operated a ceramics business for many years. Esther moved back to Hagerstown in the late-1980s and then returned to Florida in 2005. Besides ceramics, she took pleasure in painting, crocheting, other crafts, traveling and spending time with family, friends and her pets.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sarah Starliper; one brother; three sisters; and two grandsons.

She is survived by her three children, Terry Bryan (Jean) of Orlando, Fla., Martha Bryan-McIntosh of Homosassa, Fla. and Roy Barnhart (Kim) of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Mark Bryan (Linda) of Silver Spring, Md., Timothy Bryan (Charlene) of Walkersville, Md., Dawn Jolly (Richard) of Alexandria, Va., Jason Martin (Christy) of Dahlonega, Ga., Rebecca Kohler (Tom) of Plant City, Fla., Johnny Barnhart of Tampa and Krue Barnhart of Tampa; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A graveside remembrance will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the scholarship fund maintained in memory of Esther's late grandson at ChairScholars Foundation-Zuker Scholarship, 16101 Carencia Lane, Odessa, FL 33556-3278.
