2. Clear Spring carnival

Carnival opens Monday, July 30, with amusements, entertainment and food daily through Saturday, Aug. 4. Entertainment includes local band W.T. Fleming and No Fences on Monday. Carnival opens daily at 6 p.m. Entertainment at 7 and 10 p.m. Carnival grounds, off Big Spring Road, Clear Spring. Advanced tickets cost $13 to ride all night; at the gate, $20. Call 301-842-2300.
