Anti-Obama vote aside, why vote for Mitt?

To the editor:

I would like my GOP friends to tell me why they are voting for Mitt Romney. And it’s got to be more than the president’s so-called failures. The only reason he’s failed at anything is because the Congress blocks his every move. He’s tried to pass five job bills, highway funding and various women’s issues. People must believe this, because Congress is at its worst approval at 10 percent!

The only job plan the GOP has is Paul Ryan’s plan, which even the nonpartisan budget office has said it is a loser; it would hurt the poor, seniors and the middle class.

Another thing that bothers me is the tax returns. You do realize John McCain vetted Romney in 2000, saw 10 years of tax returns and chose Sarah Palin? He must of seen something that was not right or he might of won with old Mitt.

The GOP is up in arms because people are asking for at least five years of returns. They say it’s awful the Democrats would do this. Really? You guys have been asking for a sitting president’s birth certificate for three years. Even though it’s been proven time and time again he was born in Hawaii in 1961. Yes GOP, Hawaii is a state.

So my GOP friends, candidates have always shown at least five years of returns. Even Mitt’s Dad showed 12 years of his. He’s hiding his wealth, but why? He’s rich — good for him — but he’s running for president, not governor of Massachusetts. The people have the right to know what kind of person they are voting for. Again, I’d ask my GOP friends to explain why you’d vote for a man who’s said he’d cut Social Security, Medicare and stop Planned Parenthood. Again, the poor get it in the neck!
