The driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was killed Thursday night when the truck was struck by an oncoming pickup truck on Mapleville Road (Md. 66) at Pacer Road, according to Maryland State Police.

State police said Thursday night they could not release the name of the driver who was killed because the person’s family members had not been notified.

The crash, which was reported at 6:17 p.m., occurred when a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven Bryan May, 45, of Tiger Way in Boonsboro, was traveling south on Mapleville Road, state police said.

May’s truck went into the northbound lane and collided with the victim’s truck, state police said. May was taken to Meritus Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
