Communty healing forums offered

July 25, 2012

Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown is holding a series of free community healing forums this summer.
The community is invited.
The schedule is as follows:
• Wednesday, July 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. — “Suicide Survivors.” Eileen Stanzione will discuss grief, loss, guilt and regrets as normal reactions after someone you love or care about “completes” suicide. Available resources will be shared.
• Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. — “Understanding and Coping with Depression in the Congregation and in Ministry.” James K. Childerston will give an overview of the types of depression people experience, including symptoms, causes and treatment.
The differences between male and female depression will be explored as well as how depression is often “masked” in men. Problems arising from the nature of ministry and several ways a congregation can care for their minister will also be discussed.
All sessions will be held in the fellowship hall at Trinity Lutheran Church, 12 Randolph Ave., off North Potomac Street in Hagerstown. Free off-street parking is available in the back of the church off Randolph Avenue. Light refreshments will be provided.
